Thanks Annie, yes speaking to them but very expensive so trying to shop around

Yes they are expensive. Trouble is there are only about 4 companies still dealing with Crittal windows in England, last time I looked.

I know someone who requires Crittal windows, and there are 3 main types. Only 1 is thermally broken, and the lead time can be months, as there are very few Crittal window manufacturers around.

If you are looking for an economic solution, go for aluminium, as there will be a larger range it terms of price, finish, thermal insulation, and suppliers.

As this is a high end product, you will need a window schedule with dimensioned drawing's of all windows, along with thermal requirements. With particular emphasis on the size of the glazing bars.

West Leigh is a good company for Crittal windows.
Aluminium, try Pyramid Profiles.

For Crittal go for supply and install only.

Thanks Ben

Supply and install- as opposed to? Sorry probably being daft and it's obvious!

Enquiries re a few companies of each already so thank you for the additional two to look into...
Not daft at all. In some instances where a specialised supplier is involved, one may not be able to obtain an installation service, only a supply service.

Or you may have a general builder / main contractor on a site where they will install products procured by either the client or the themselves, as their install service may be cheaper and they will organise and control the whole build.

You may wish to look into the thermal properties of the window, (West Leigh will be able to provide these), and Google a generic workmanship specification to ensure correct installation, materials etc a's this is best practice.

Will your supplier ensure securing the window void in the event the product does not fit I. E. Board over the aperture/ refit the original until the revised product arrives, making sure you are not left with a cold room which can be broken into a invalidating your home insurance?
Ben - thank you this is really helpful , really appreciate it
