Hi all,
Had a second attempted theft in 4 months on my motorbike overnight on Lausanne Road. Both times they had attacked the ignition lock with screws jammed in the cylinder to the break the lock. Neither time successful but this time they have knackered the lock mechanism. The alarm activated but I must have slept through it.
Going to invest in a ground anchor if anyone has any recommendations?

So while Wightman Rd was closed off, someone tried to steal it?
Yes although to be fair the road blocks on Wightman didn't manage to stop any of the pizza delivery drivers I saw.
Seconding the Almax suggestion.
I use an Almax + lamp post - had 3 bikes nicked pre-almax, none since.
I have a KTM which being bright orange is somewhat conspicuous I guess. I've had it 5 years and it's only now started to get noticed by the thieves.
Anyway I've decided to put the bike up for sale and get a bog standard scooter. I need it for the commute so can't afford to be without a bike and to change locks each time.
Thanks for the advice for the Almax chain and Y Anchor, they do look like being tough bits of kit.
Gave up on owning KTMs in London - had two out of three stolen. They're thief magnets and the high strung nature doesn't help the reliability. Awesome city commuter bike though.
Not sure that moving to a scooter will put you in a much better place against thieves. As many scooters/mopeds are stolen vs big bikes.
Joyriding little twerps are more likely to steal scooter than a big bike - no skill required to ride it and much easier to use as a support vehicle for other crime (no clutch/gearshift to worry about)
