A neglected dog has been rescued by The Mayhew Animal Home. You can read Mitzi's story here
She had been neglected and left to fend for herself by her irresponsible breeders, having been attacked by another dog.
She was terrified and there was matted blood all down her left side and she could hardly walk.
The Animal Welfare Manager said “Unfortunately we see a lot of unwanted dogs as they are bred purely to be sold for profit or used as a breeding machine. When they end up injured or not sold, the breeders abandon and dump them when they are no longer wanted. We ask that owners think responsibly about where they get their pets from and consider adopting a rescue dog.”
Her left front leg needed to be amputated. Despite her disability, Mitzi gets around easily and is still able to do all the things normal dogs can do like running, playing and jumping.
As soon as she was fully recovered, she found a home. She has since settled in really well and is enjoying her new life in her loving home, and particularly enjoys cuddling up to her new owners.

"It's as bad as abusing and neglecting kids. People should be locked up" <- sorry I disagree. It's sad but there is just no comparison which I think you'll agree when you reflect on this.
Unfortunately when people buy puppies from pet shops or online, this fuels more suffering in puppy farming. I always recommend getting a rescue pet
