I've got a twisted willow tree in my N22 garden which has sadly grown too large for the space. I would like to have it removed - can anyone recommend a firm to do this please?
Also, if it's not too cheeky, would anyone who's had similar done mind giving me a rough price I might expect?
Thanks.

Rachel - we had a twisted willow tree which had gotten very big. I'd sort of become fed up with it as, while it was beautiful in Winter, all that was visible from Spring to Autumn was just a clump of uninteresting leaves. So this year I chopped out all the bottom branches and made it much more like a tree and suddenly it looked great, and took up much less space. Here's a pic-
Sadly it then had to go a couple of weeks ago due to building works.
Oh, that is lovely. Mine's not as nice as that but I will still be very sad to see it go. When I bought it I was told it would grow to be about 12 foot, but it's nearer 40!
Wow 40' - Ultimate height according to RHS is 2.5-4 metres - that's just over 13' max. Sure it's not a hazel which does grow to 40'?
Sorry, that was probably a massively rubbish estimate. It's as tall as my house anyway.
Definitely not a twisted hazel then- unless you've got a unique specimen, in which case you should keep it Rachel ;o)
we had two 40 foot sycamore trees that need cut down and brought through the house as there was no other access
I got 5 quotes and the cheapest was Tree Amigos £1500
Took close to two days 4 guys, chipper machine and + work chicle with tipper
There were not the tidiest but its hard to get that much timber through a house and not make a mark
One guy said job was too big, one guy said we needed to contact council, one guy said 4 day job £2500 so you really need to speak to a few people
If you need any further info just ask
Good Luck
