I stumbled across a nice little diversion for a couple of hours if you're around Old Street.
Opposite Bunhill Fields is the Wesleyan Chapel and you can also get a free guided tour round John Wesley's little Georgian house next door. It's a pleasant little diversion.
I've walked past the buildings a zillion times before. In a city you know well, it's easy to miss the little treasures right under our noses.
On the tour I learned that Wesley published a general medical cures book in 1755. Amidst the sensible advice there's some fairly nutty stuff like the advice to bind a wound with toasted cheese.
