My dad was in Saudi Arabia and UAE and really got a taste for the shawarma they served there with 'some type of spicy sauce'. He's had Green Lanes doners and loved them but I'm still trying to track down a shawarma with a sauce like he remembers. Can any food sleuths help? Please note this ISN'T the same thing as the great charcoal grills round here - they're great but not the same thing!

I've not come across this in north London tbh; Edgeware Road used to be great for this (admittedly going back 30 years ago) and tbh I thought it was of Lebanese origin.
