Umfreville Road is an excellent surgery. All the doctors i've seen there, male and female have been brilliant and friendly. Considering it's a tough job, the receptionists are firm but fair. We are very lucky to have them
well Im biased as I also work as a practice nurse myself so have pretty high standards of what to get,
I went round a few local practices in haringay including both surgeries on umfreville road, both of which I didnt like

i finally settled for the cedar practice about 11years ago and never looked back
I highly recommend them, great doctors, know what they are doing and at the end of the day that is what matters
It is located in the same building as the heron practice,in woodberry downs, straight over the crossroads at manor house and about 50-100 yards past there on the left hand side=called The JOHN SCOTT HEALTH CENTRE
great female dr-shier,
Karen

would you say that the docs there are thorough, listen to what you say and treat you like an intelligent human being that might know more about your body than they do (sometimes), don't talk down to you and admit that somtimes they don't have all the answers, as well as having excellent qualifications..... this is what I have at the moment and have to move from... and am so nervous of giving up (but have to ...
I would definitely say that Dr Shier is like that_she has been great with me,treats me as i need to be treated on that particular day-whether as someone who knows what Im talking about or whether I am being my mad bad self
to be honest i usually know what the matter is and what i need so wont be patronised-but if anything they are much more thorough than i would normally expect-and refer me on when i havent expected to be
Dr carver is bit abrupt wth little bedside manner i think, as spends more time looking at the computer than patient-but he also very good and def knows his stuff. and I would def trust his judgment of the next step
Dr stanley i dont particularly like but then she fitted me in as an emergency on friday and was fine But I knew to keep my mouth shut and not tell her my diagnosis and what antibiotics i need. I didnt get on with her the one time I had contact wth her approx 5years ago, but maybe I caught her on a bad day

I know it can be scary changing gps, but i would definitely recommend the cedar practice-
ok thanks - I had so many bad, patronising talking down to you, dismissive, hurrying you through docs before current practice. I iwll ring them tomorrow see if they have spaces. All practices have a mixture of docs, but as long as 1-2 good and I spose you cant get a better recomendation than from a practice nurse!
Oh hell - don't think she(Dr Shier), Cedar Wood practice) will take me as I am outside her catchment area - ends after the Salisbury - any others on the Wood Green side anyone?
