Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I'm told that an owner of a little elderly dog left their dog tied up in Harringay Passage one night this week - apparently it turns out that the owner no longer wanted the dog so just left it there, poor little thing, anything could have happened to it. Luckily the dog was found by another dog owner and the dog is now safe at a rescue place and will need a home.

A cat was recently abandoned locked in a cat carrier in bushes in a NW London park - luckily a dog owner, alerted by her dog, found the cat and took the cat to the Mayhew. Full story here

The Mayhew Animal Home says "We encourage people who are having problems looking after their pet to get in contact with us so we can see what we can do to help; we do not judge anyone and are here to help the animal.”

List of animal rescue places here for anyone needing rehoming help with a pet or able to give a pet a home.

Also Stokey Cats and Dogs are a good source of local help and advice and they also rely on and welcome funds donated by the community through their fundraising here.

All Dogs Matter will always try to help a dog in need if you contact them for help and advice.

Unfortunaly it's a sign o the times...people are desperate and if you can afford to look after yourself you are prob not going to be able to look after a pet (emotionally and physically) I'm not saying it's OK im an animals lover and have taken in a rescue cat that was dumped. I see this a lot and it is very scary and no surprise it's got worse sice this government got in. Thank the heavens for places like the Mayhew. We should all be donating
Really sad but not surprising when vet bills are so expensive. My cat had cystitis last year and cost us £600 in 3 days.

Abandoned Dog

Unfortunately it's not the first time this has happened.
