Will keep a lookout, what a lovely cat. Well done for microchipping her, if only everyone were so sensible, I presume she is neutered as well. Remember to call the microchip company, tell them she is missing and check that they have your correct contact details.
It often helps to empty some contents of your hoover outside your home (or put out something which has her scent) as she will recognise scent even if quite far away. Flyers are useful.
It’s also worth putting details of a lost pet on www.animalsearchuk.co.uk with good close up photos, and it's free to do that. Make sure you include a close up photo of her face and chest, to clearly show her markings. If she was wearing a collar, describe the colour.
Stokey Cats and Dogs help with lost and found pets. There are useful tips on what to do if your pet is missing on here www.stokeycatsanddogs.co.uk
Thank you so much for your advice and all the thought you have put into it. I will put her photo on the site you suggest and we are putting up posters a bit further afield. She is not wearing a collar.
We have been heartened by all the stories of cats that have come back that people have told us so fingers crossed she is OK and home soon. We miss her a lot.
I would like to take credit for microchipping her, but instead I would recommend the place we discovered her which was the Cats Protection League in Archway. For £75 she was micro chipped, neutered, checked over by a vet, and up-to-date with worm and flea treatment. She also had 1 month's worth of insurance.
