Hi All
It's my first post...so be gentle...
My wife and I are moving to St Ann's road...and will obviously have the same questions most people have... What's the area like? Safe? What is chestnuts primary like? Other schools? etc...
...but...one thing we really wanted to know was...does anyone know what the two red buildings are on the corner of Cleveland Gardens/St Ann's Road?
Google maps shows some people sitting out the front selling old office furniture, but it looks like that was a long time ago.
And...what is St Ann's road like - noise/safety-wise?
We know there seems to be a decent amount of cars travelling up and down (at speed unfortunately) and there's a hospital down the road too - so wondered if anyone around there hears a lot of sirens?
And safety-wise? As good as any other street in Haringay?
Thanks - and great to see such a great community aspect on here - so looking forward to helpful replies.
Thanks
Kieran

Oh right, thanks Ann-Marie... I think I just got a little worried, as it said there was the criminal mental health section there as well... Thanks!
From time to time, but not so much recently, I've been accosted on St Ann's Road by people asking for money. Of course, this happens everywhere (and in fact a lot more on Green Lanes), but I wondered if some of the ones on St Ann's Road could have been outpatients at the hospital. There's one woman I've seen both on St Ann's Road and Green Lanes, especially near the post office, where on one occasion she asked me for money saying she needed to get to Chase Farm Hospital (in Enfield).
Cool - thanks for the heads up dubmill. And yeah, I'm sure it will happen everywhere - we even used to get asked in Highbury Barn area - Angel etc... so I'm sure it's common.
Been living for around 2,5 in the area (a stone's throw from Chestnuts school) and my only security advice is to buy the thickest chains you can find if you have a motorbike and leave it on the street overnight. Some nice folk tried to nick mine twice, breaking one of my padlocks on the first attempt and thrashing my key cylinder on the second one. I've also had two covers nicked (even with the chains passing through them).
Except for that, I've never had any problems.
Thanks Wellington Barreto - no motorbike for us - but handy to know if we have friends stay who do have one!
