I have to say I've always hated roads being referred to in this generic way, as if to imply their only role is to facilitate traffic, and in tern produce physical barriers separating communities.
The sad reality is the junction is derelict, bent railings, impermeable to any natural crossing by pedestrians, the hard landscaping is in poor repair and long out dated, it's ugly and smelly, littered with vehicle parts, and it doesn't have to be this way.
The opportunity to resolve the junction for Frobisher Road and Green Lanes, has been juggled else where.
£2M wasn't enough to do the job, so no fix there in the short term.
The council need to tackle these junctions with urgency, be modern, creative and thoughtful of residents and cyclists using this junction as a priority.

We need a London Mayor and GLA Member, with a strategy, together with a council committed to improving conditions for it's residents.

This junction needs radically paring-down, narrowing the lanes, improving pedestrian crossings, maybe even a separate cycle route. At the moment it's a major invitation for lots of traffic to drive down Wightman.
NB: I was walking a bit in Rotterdam a few weeks ago. It's very cycling friendly, but it was a lot less straightforward as a pedestrian (I had to walk along cycle lanes some of the time, which is not ideal).

This junction is a nightmare, esp for pedestrians dealing with the cars turning right from Hornsey Park Rd, where no priority is given to those getting about on their own steam.

I don't see your problem. There is a green man pedestrian phase on all four arms of the junction.

We need to look at the whole feel of the junction, just as Richard Rogers did with Trafalgar Square, how can we make this junction a better experience for pedestrians and reduce its impact as a physical barrier overall.
