This month's Cinema Club for the Over 60's film is Suffragette starring Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter and Meryl Streep.
Synopsis
This stirring story centers on Maud, a working wife and mother whose life is forever changed when she is secretly recruited to join the U.K.'s growing suffragette movement. Galvanized by the outlaw fugitive Emmeline Pankhurst, Maud becomes an activist for the cause alongside women from all walks of life. When increasingly aggressive police action forces Maud and her dedicated fellow suffragettes underground, they engage in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with the authorities, who are shocked as the women's civil disobedience escalates and sparks debate across the nation.
The venue is The Vue Cinema, Hollywood Green, 180 High Road, opposite the Wood Green Underground station.
It will start at 12:00pm so please get there by 11:45. Please see the poster attached.
The price is £3.29 which includes tea or coffee and a biscuit.
There are also facilities for the disabled.
The Cinema Club for the Over 60's runs on the last Monday of every month while The Vue offers a weekly seniors film, also on a Monday, but times may vary.
I hope to see you there.

It's great these events are organised but I find it frustrating that it's always films most of us have already seen and it's been the case every time I've looked.
That's very helpful, thanks James. What's the best way of letting you know my email address so it's not publicly broadcast? Connecting on this forum??
I tried to connect with you, to enable a private email, but according to HoL there is no 'Cowper' on their database.
There is on mine. suggest you try again
You will have to add him as a connection - click on his picture icon That should take you to his page and you will see an " add as connection " on the left hand side. You can send a message, such as an email address along with your connection request
Thanks - have tried to do this now but don't understand why, on the right hand part of the screen there is a Connections - invite link, which seems the most obvious way of doing it instead of clicking on someone's picture and it was this which came up with the no listings info...
