Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

  • I had lunch at Beam in Crouch End today   the food was good, so were the staff but nobody warned me that about half  the customers are aged 3 or under!   from sleeping babies to toddlers some of whom were running around yelling ignored by their mothers   my ex-husband who owned bistros always said he dreaded

small children with badly-behaved parents more than the worst drunks!

I know exactly what you mean and hope that when I had toddlers in a cafe a few years ago I wasnt ignoring them when they were running around!

Next time, try Irvin's Bar and Grill next door - certainly not a place mothers with toddlers would go.  Fantastic food and the wine menu chosen by one of our Ladder locals.  I've been 4 or 5 times and never been disappointed.

thank you, Michelle, I've wondered about Irvin's when I've passed it and will visit soon

One of the bistros wasn't Mustoes on Kentish Town Road in the 1970s, was it??

sort of!   Mustoe's in Primrose Hill was the first and Edward's in KT Rd was the second

Ah yes.... I used to visit them in a previous life!

same here!
