Last night we saw Stan Sulzmann (rated as one of the UK's top sax players) along with Kate Williams on piano (in my view just as good as DIana Krall.) And the excellent rhythm section of Stu Butterffield on drums and Steve Watts on bass. £8 entrance and starts at 8pm. www.karamelrestaurant.com. Wonderful Thursday night jazz - not to be missed!!

Last week, we saw the amazing Henry Lowther and Still Waters with Pete Hurt, Barry Green, Dave Green and Paul Clarvis play to a great turnout! This Thursday, we're looking forward to Time Zone with Loz Speyer (trumpet/flugelhorn), Martin Hathaway (alto sax/bass clarinet) , Stuart Hall (guitar/violin), Ryan Trebilcock (bass), Andy Ball (drums), Maurizio Ravalico (congas) - innovative “deep fusion” of Cuban music and Jazz – soulful, catchy and rhythmically provocative. John Fordham (The Guardian) had some good things to say about them when they played at the Vortex earlier this year. Read more
