Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi everyone,

I've been in the area for a couple of years, thought I'd try to add something to the general goings-on.  For those of you interested in sustainable food / supporting local producers please check out www.thefoodassembly.com There are over 700 Assemblies across Europe and the project won the 2015 BBC Award for Best Initiative in Food.

A simple web platform allows you to browse food and drink listed by local producers, and to easily place an order for collection at the assembly.  With the Food Assembly you can conveniently find fresh foods from sustainable sources, and get to know the community that makes them.

I've been nominated as a host for Harringay, and the plan is to open one up at the Salisbury soon.

It's free to register, and as soon as around 200 people are signed up we're good to go and can begin enjoying local produce and a meetup once a week!

Just visit this link, it takes 2 mins! www.harringayfoodassembly.com

Any Q's drop me a line, see ya soon,

Dymock

Hi Dymock,

Looks very interesting. I tried to join but the site won't accept my postcode...

OK, it worked this time! See you Wednesday!

Great thanks for signing up - it's not actually open yet we need about 200 sign ups first. So feel free to spread the word and hopefully the launch assembly can happen in the next few weeks!

Hi Jessica,

The producers are listed on the assembly home page here: www.harringayfoodassembly.com just click on 'see all our producers' link above the photos.  There will be more on the way soon as well (jams, chutneys etc)

Hi Jessica, apologies I didn't realise that.

The list so far is:

Channel Fish

Gozo Deli

The Dusty Knuckle

Lois and the Living Teas

Lockie's Shellfish

Netherhall Nursery

Brambletye Fruit Farm

Brockman's Farm Produce

Marsh Produce (Meat)

As I said new producers should come on board on a rolling basis.  There are lots of things like interesting local brewers and chocolate makers for example!

Hope that helps, best

Dymock

Hopefully although I can see this thread has almost 400 views but still only around 60 sign ups to the assembly so it could take longer than I thought! Will send out news of a launch date as soon as I have one to everyone who's signed up.
Best,
Dymock
Hi I would like to join please. My postcode is N80QT

Hi Vicki,

No problem just go to www.harringayfoodassembly.com and click on 'Join this assembly' - it takes 2 minutes!
