Can someone alter trousers?

Magic Wand dry cleaners do this. I think the price is very reasonable but I can't remember how much it is! They are on Green Lanes roughly opposite the Salisbury.

dont know where you are, but SEW in crouch end are very good and quite reasonable

I got trousers narrowed at Zephyr dry cleaners on Green Lanes near Stanhope Gardens for about £10 and perfectly good.

if your in green lanes, got to be Zephyr- went to her after previous recommendation off here, she is a little old greek/turkish lady who is fab and very cheap
