Does Counsellor George Meehan need a better photo?

I saw one of him with a big cheesy grin in "Haringey People" next to an article explaining that Haringey Council had lost (or rather, had "frozen") £37 million quid in the Icelandic banking crisis and thought it seemed inappropriate to the seriousness of the situation. Next thing, the very same grinning photo is in the "Metro" next to an article about Baby P and the problems in Haringey social services. I know he probably has better things to do than get photos taken, but he definitely needs to look a bit more serious at times.
By the way, how much is £37 million in terms of per capita of the borough's residents?

All of them, or just the idiots like me who actually pay council tax ?

I agree about the photo. I thought it was most inapropriate associated with the Baby P story.

Obviously 'Haringey People' just dish up the usual mugshot of Councillor Meehan in every issue and I'm sure free Comics such as the 'Metro' just reach for the one stock photo from some off-the-peg archive.
Still, one viewer's 'cheesy grin' is another's reassuringly open sym/em/pathetic smile. Should local CounCILLors consult their Image CounSELLors before issuing statements? Or would it be better if all politicians just used that familiar HOL Grey (Wo)man image favoured by Maddy and Yours Truly?
