Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi All, I'm familiar with Gokyuzu and with Selale but have only been on Weekends and Sundays when they are really busy. I'm meeting a friend who hasn't sampled the Turkish delights of Green lanes and would like to. It will be weekday dinner and we'd prefer to go to somewhere where we are not rushed out. I thought someone here could advise. Thanks :)

I absolutely love Harran, super chilled, never too busy but still a good atmosphere and they never rush you.  The food is delicious especially the sharing platter.

So many to chose from. I always like the atmosphere in Hala, informal,  where they are very happy to keep giving you Turkish tea.....

I'm partial to Diyarbakir (the new, bigger branch). I've never been rushed out - in fact I often struggle to get the waiter's attention to pay once we've lingered over our tea. Their vegetable kebab is delicious.

Thanks all for your suggestions. We ended up in Taksim quite by chance. It was lovely, atmospheric, quiet and the food was really very good indeed. The meze we had to share was packed with great flavoured salads and dips, the Shish was good and came with lots of salad and chillies. All very fresh with a home made feel ( in a good way!) lovely staff, will go again.
You can also try Antepliler and Diyarbakir Kitchen. Devran is good too.
They all tend to get really busy after 7.30pm.

For future reference: Rakkas, down by the railway bridge, is less frantic.  It also has a garden, good for summer evenings.
