Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello,

I was hoping someone could advise if there is alot of noise living on the front of the road on Westbury Avenue?, we have an offer on a house accepted there but have only been to the area to view the house.

Also what is parking like?, our budget prevents us from some of the nicer roads and its a nice 3 bed victorian , all good apart from being on the front of the road!

Any advice is welcome, on the road or area!

Thanks

Hi there. We live on Westbury Avenue - just past the church - and love it. There's no doubt that when we're sitting in our living room which looks onto the road that sometimes we can hear a noisy bus, but it really isn't anything that bothers us. When we're sitting in our garden at the back, you'd never know how close you were to the road. Our bedroom is just one room back and is totally quiet.

Welcome to the neighbourhood!

thanks for the reply

I moved to a house on Westbury Avenue 2 years ago and initially had reservations just like you

I am pleased to report it is fine! The only room in the house we can hear any noise is the front room (our lounge) and the noise is very minimal, I barely notice it, other than sirens from ambulances and police cars etc and when these go past I also see the flashing lights, but I don't have blinds or curtains in the lounge (just the frosted film)

Parking is good, we have parked our car since we moved here and it is fine, very cheap compared to other London boroughs and we never have a problem finding a space (I used to live in Camden and Haringey parking is much much better)

The Westbury pub is a really great addition to the road

Good luck!

Hi I've lived on Westbury Avenue for six years now, Turnpike lane end the way my flat is laid out is that my bedroom is at the front but after a couple of weeks you don't notice the noise anymore. As a previous poster has said, from the garden its hard to believe you are just minutes from a busy road and High street.

thanks for the advice
