We've lost our Tabby and White cat. He's called Scampi, male and about 13 years old. He was last seen on Conway Rd on Sunday evening. He doesn't normally go far so we are very worried.
Phone attached. Please get in touch if you have seen him.
Thanks very much
Marie
Will keep a lookout, hope you find your lovely cat soon. Is he microchipped and neutered? If he is microchipped, remember to call the microchip company, tell them he is lost and check that they have your correct contact details.
It often helps to empty some contents of your hoover outside your home (or put out something which has his scent) as he will recognise scent even if quite far away. Flyers are useful, including roads with gardens backing on to your garden. He may have got trapped in someone's house or shed by mistake.
It's also a good idea to put details of a lost pet on www.animalsearchuk.co.uk with a good close up photo.
You probably do this anyway, so this is just general advice to other cat owners out there - it's a good idea to lock the catflap at night so that cats are safe inside at night as it reduces the risk of them getting lost or injured.
Thanks so much for your help. He turned up this morning, limping and looking sheepish. Not sure where he has been but I'm very happy to have him home! Thanks again.
Hi I saw a cat similar to this this morning at around 8am at the garages on Clarendon Road.
Thanks so much for your help. It could well have been Scampi that you saw as he turned up at home just after 8am this morning. Thanks again. We are very happy to have him home.
What may have happened is perhaps he got into a fight with another cat and got injured and then lay low for a few days. As I'm sure you know, sometimes a cat bite causes a cat to limp because they have a swelling further up in the shoulder area which may not be readily apparent, so its worth getting him checked at your vet in case he has an abscess or injury.
I'm sure Scampi is already microchipped, but to any cat owners out there who's cats aren't chipped yet, please get them chipped as it gives some peace of mind if a cat gets lost (sadly a lot of lost unmicrochipped cats are put down or end up in rescue centres with no-one knowing who their owner is.)
