Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This one in particular is the junction between Hermitage Road (coming up from the bottom) and St.Ann's Road (across from left to right).

I was riding on my bike on Hermitage Road, got to the junction, had no one coming from my right, entered the roundabout to turn right, when this crazy driver on a BMW X5 came up from my right speeding like hell and flashing at me cos I was on his way. He slowed down enough for me to turn right, and drove on, at which point I decided to go round the roundabout and chase him to teach him something.

3 thugs on board shouting at me like gangsters they had the right of way as they were coming from the right and telling me to FO. Me obviously shouting back but FFS, seriously, who gave them the driving licence? Shame I didn't think about taking his plate number!

So many idiots behind the wheel should read this:

I know that roundabout well, but there is little you can do with anti social ****s who ruin your day by their aggressive actions.

What you need is a Police Station right next to it...no wait!

LOL

"I was riding on my bike on Hermitage Road, got to the junction, had no one coming from my right, entered the roundabout to turn right, when this crazy driver on a BMW X5 came up from my right..."

I'm a bit confused by this. If you were in Hermitage Rd and the BMW was heading West along St. Ann's (which sounds like what you're describing), then you certainly should have given way to them. "Give priority to traffic approaching from your right" is exactly what it says in your highway code link.

Doesn't excuse the speeding, although it would explain why they got the hump when you had a go at them.

There was nobody when I pulled out Hermitage Road to enter the roundabout. Only when I was half way through the roundabout, this car approached the roundabout speeding and I thought to myself "f*ck he's not stopping!!!".

I was already inside the roundabout, hence I had priority over him.

And he was definitely driving well over the 30mph limit I might add...

Got the wrong end of the stick, my apologies.

If anyone suffers similar incidents (as a cyclist, pedestrian or driver) and gets details of the vehicle it could be worth reporting on the Met's Roadsafe service. Without independent witnesses it's extremely unlikely any direct action will be taken, but it at least makes sure they're recorded.

This is one of the worst roundabouts I know. As a pedestrian I treat it as though it's a normal corner. Don't expect cars to slow down at the zebra either, half of them don't bother in my experience
Yes, I don't cycle or drive and as a pedestrian I've had so many near misses on zebra crossings, including that one.

One thing you can do is a helmet-cam/bike-cam and record them, that way you can usually get the number-plate and who is driving (depending on direction and shaky footage etc), then upload it on Youtube and add to the exhaustive library of abysmal driving videos.

I've been thinking about getting a helmet cam for a while, I'll do it one day or another...

Some people live in their own world with its own rules...

That's another tricky roundabout btw, I have some stories about it myself.
