Little Puss is a black cat. He is not microchipped, no collar. He is neutered. Last seen on 13th April.

Thanks for replying. It may not be this one as Allington Avenue is about 3 miles away, but anything's possible.
However, there are a few lost black cats locally round here so best thing to do - if you can - is catch him, take a close up photo of his face (so you can put a photo on here) see if he's wearing a collar, and take him to a vet to be scanned to see if microchipped.
He could be lost or if a cat doesn't have a cat flap and can't get into its own home, they are stuck outside for hours until someone's home. I always encourage cat owners to get their cat neutered, microchipped and have a catflap. It's safer for a cat to be inside at night as it reduces the risk of it being lost or injured. Plus if this cat is on the roadside at night, that's even more dangerous.If the cat is not neutered, best not to let a cat outside until he's been neutered - as reduces fighting plus the last thing we need is more kittens being born when there are so many already without homes. So if he's not neutered, I can sort out neutering if you can catch him.

If you see him again please let me know? It's entirely possible he's wandered up the river or passage from Cavendish....
If he does seems lost and you can hang onto him for a bit myself or partner will try to come round asap and see if he's ours.

Well done for taking a good photo. The cat is fortunate to have found you to help it. My guess is it looks like a different cat, but it's more difficult to tell with a black cat as no facial colour markings to compare.
I suggest you start a new post in Pets with a photo of the cat, to see if anyone recognises it. Also you could put it on www.animalsearchuk.co.uk as a found cat.
If the cat is not microchipped, maybe try putting a temporary paper collar on the cat with a note of your tel no and see if any owner calls you. If an owner does call, explain the importance of microchipping and neutering plus dangerous for a cat to be on street, particularly at night. If anyone out there knows someone with a pet, please encourage them to microchip and neuter.
Sadly there are many cats on the street which have been abandoned and need help from people in the neighbourhood to provide a good home and neuter and microchip.

I always try to spread the word about the importance of microchipping and neutering. It's vital not to produce more kittens while there are so many kittens and cats stuck in rescue centres needing homes. Rescue places are inundated and now we are in kitten season it will only get worse. Sadly people don't realise that many unmicrochipped cats and dogs are put down. People with indoor cats often think they don't need to microchip or neuter them, but indoor cats often escape so it is just as important for indoor cats.
We need more people to be responsible pet owners and also give homes to stray and rescue cats and dogs, not buy them as it only encourages breeding for financial gain - with often the mother in poor conditions, having to breed litter after litter. Why breed more animals when so many are being put down because they have no homes.
