Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Wanted: paving stones (no matter how few!) and wood for raised bed

We're aiming to pave our small garden to make it more manageable and creat one 2m long raised bed.

We're hoping to do it using reclaimed everything so if you have the odd paving slab or an old gate post/suitable wood please give us a shout. We're in Wood Green (n22 7bt)

That's going to be a bit difficult we have people over. Any time after 4 should be OK.

If you don't find any timber, Forest Recycling in Walthamstow usually have reclaimed scaffold boards, which are better than rail sleepers as they are not drenched in creosote. £1 a metre, looks like you have to collect them yourself at the mo but most cars can manage a six foot length.

NB If you pave your yard, don't forget to allow for drainage into the soil, not off into the gutter. Anything more than five m2 paved is now illegal, so bring in at least some gravel or other porous surface. Save the Lea/Save the New River.

No it's five square metres in total - not 5 metres each way. So anything over 2.2 m -ish  each way must drain into earth. Hooray.
