Golden cars. Ask them for a baby seat. They should have one. If not try Addison Lee, although they are more expensive

Hi Milda
Golden Cars was my taxi firm of choice for many years. However recently they wanted to charge me more than necessary for an early morning trip to Stansted so I tried Harringay Cars, who were £15 cheaper for the same journey. I was travelling without children though. They're both open 24-hours and would both be reliable enough so price will probably be the determining factor.

We used golden cars who were cheap and reliable. On the way back, however, we were unable to book them for the airport pick up because they wanted to be paid cash in advance (kind of tricky when you're holidaying abroad..). So we arranged a trip with Metro Express (based on Lordship lane). Unfortunately, having traveled for 12 hours we arrived at Heathrow to discover that they have lost our booking! Major let down when you have an overtired baby and can't just jump into any cab. So thumbs up to golden cars and be warned about the metro express!

That's bizarre that they wanted cash in advance. We always get them to pick us up from the airport and have never encountered that problem .

Ok so this used Golden Cars for another journey. Not massively impressed. The driver was rude and mumbled about us having more bags than we specified (OK, our fault but must he be very rude about this since everything fit it alright?). The return journey was even worse. The same driver was late and didn't even come to the arrivals as agreed. Instead he was just driving around avoiding parking fees (although they charged us 6 pounds extra for the return journey - I had assumed this was to cover the parking) so we had to go out and find his unmarked car ourselves. Not impressed. And yes, we had to prepay this in cash. Bizarre.
