Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just wanted to let everyone know of an incident involving a friend of mine that occurred last Thursday on Chesterfield Gardens, at about 11am.

She was walking along when she heard a call pull up behind her and someone exit. He proceeded to knock her to the ground, and despite a struggle, made off with her handbag, which contained amongst other items, her house keys.

Unfortunately some paper with her address was also in the bag, so she changed the locks on her front door as a precaution. This leads on to the second, more disturbing incident.

The thieves returned in an attempt to gain access to the property on Saturday morning at around 3am. They used the key fob to enter the main door at the communal flats, but were unable to open the front door of the flat with the stolen keys, as the locks had been changed. Instead they attempted to kick the door down, and when that failed, they smashed a glass panel and tried to turn the lock from the inside.

They were ultimately unsuccessful as my friend was eventually able to fend them off. All this occurred even though they knew the property was occupied.

Gosh, how awful for your friend. I hope she's ok. Thanks for the heads up. Will be extra vigilant from now on.

This is why I keep my keys in my pocket not my bag.  Not good for pockets, but much much safer.

Just an fyi if this happens to you or bag gets taken in a pub/restaurant and has home details in don't just change the Yale lock, they're really easy to open if you half know what you're doing make sure you change the Chubb lock too
