A big thanks to all who came to the Winter Tree Festival today at Railway Fields. Lovely to see you. We and all the critters at Railway Fields hope you had a good time at our local Nature Reserve.
Thanks especially to those who helped the committee today - Karen who did such sterling work on refreshments, Judy and Jenny who baked, Clif who led the Tree Walk, Anna the fantastic storyteller, Susan and her wonderful Sometime Singers, Green Santa who chatted with children and collected donations for Friends of RF activities, and the local police who helped us join safely in the Harringay Lantern Parade to the Salisbury.
I'm seeking feedback - positive and constructive negative - on our Tree Festival so we can do our next event even better. Feel free to post on HoL, or visit our own website

Hi Julie - thanks for your helpful remarks and I'm glad you enjoyed making the lanterns.
I think there were several workshops going on in other places and some of them were Chinese lanterns so that's why the children thought that, I imagine.
Our activity was tagged on to the lantern poster so that we could link up the various things happening locally and I'm really happy that happened. I think possibly the lantern poster would have had too much on it if it advertised all our other activities. I think next time we add ourselves to wider publicity we might include our website or facebook page. All the details of our activities were on HoL you're right, and on our own website www.friendsofrailwayfields.wordpress.com and on our facebook page, on our posters which go up at Stroud Green library, the gates, the cabin, the umfreville road notice board etc. Happy Christmas and sorry for the late reply!
