Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The attached photo (26//9/14) shows how the planters are being used as an astray. I am sure the work will be completed eventually. However, I feel that poor communication on finishing the work from whoever is in charge undermines the positive work done on the Green Lanes regeneration project so far.

If you're passing Tao Sports, drop in and say hi to Rob and I'm sure he'll tell when the plants are coming.

It's a funny project in a way. It was initiated by the traders when they put a bid in to the GLA.  The council refused to support the bid in favour of either the Muswell Hill or Wood Green bids, I can't remember which.  (You wouldn't guess this from their recent press releases, however.). The GLSG kind of took ownership and the GLA co-ordinated with the Council. With the demise of the GLSG, there isn't such public ownership of the project, but I imagine that Rob will be very happy to answer any questions.

Yes, it's a real shame that the councillor channel of communication seems to be going quiet these days. For my money, as cars as a councillor's role is concerned, I'd have thought keeping local people informed was up there along with fighting for our interests, but perhaps I have it all wrong.

You'll probably have to wait about three years Hugh, until they need us again.

Slight correction on the facts here here Hugh.
The bid for the OLF funding was a joint bid by the Traders Assoc , Ladder Community Saftey Partnership(LCSP), Gardens Residents Assoc (GRA) Woodlabds Park Residents Assoc ( WPRA) which of course used to be the driving force behind the GLSG, our Cllrs supported the bid as members of the GLS GROUP but you are right the Council did not support it as they wanted to focus solely on Tottenham to regenerate there and to gain as much funding as possible their.
Once the group won the money we neogociayed with the council as the rules dictated that only councils could be the delivery agents. I hope that makes this a little clearer.

Have you noticed that the excellent councillors who were voted off last May ( David, Karen and Zena ) are still frequently contributing to HOL whereas the new ones are nowhere to be seen ?

Democracy, eh ?

If your party joins with Tories in government and breaks promises you're gonna get punished as a local council candidate if you don't publicly distance yourself from the betrayal.

Democracy, eh?

Nice.
Has Cllr Ryan not acknowledged your earlier email at all? That's really unimpressive..
