Offering dishes including snail and mushroom dim sum and cricket tacos, pop-up restaurant Hot Buzz launched with its opening night at the Blighty Cafe Finsbury Park last week.
The Hot Buzz chefs say, "Over 2 billion people around the world enjoy insects as a regular protein source. Insects are tasty and nutritious and at Hot Buzz we use recipes inspired by cultures where insect eating (also known as entomophagy) is an age-old tradition.
"We bring you insect dishes with influences from the hills of Cambodia and Thailand to indigenous groups of Mexico and villages of Nigeria, with a familiar twist. We strive to cook with fabulous home grown and local ingredients and to invite you to fun, welcoming places so you can feel at home while your taste buds explore."
Got to be worth a try. On their Facebook page and Twitter stream, they're advertising a Halloween special on November 1st? I don't think it has a home yet (NOW CONFIRMED THAT HOT BUZZ WILL BE RETURNING TO BLIGHTY CAFE ON NOV 1ST), but if you fancy something different this Halloween, keep your eyes on their social media accounts (oh and, when you find out, come back and let us know where the event is!).
