Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just a heads-up in case anyone is missing this very friendly female cat. She's been being fed regularly by neighbours and living in a front garden, but we think she'll need to be given an indoor home by winter if no owner is found. We'd love to take her, but not sure our other two will want company...she's apparently been spayed, so must have been someone's pet.

I believe that one of my neighbours has plans to take her to a vet and see if she has a chip - but I'm not well placed to do this as a non-driver.

If you know anyone who you think miht have lost her over the summer, please let us know!

Thank you!

Oh gosh what a beautiful cat, please let me know if I can help

She's gorgeous...keep having to tell myself we can't have her!

She does also have a bit of fur missing around her tail and legs. Not sure why this should be or if it's an indication of poor health, but it might help someone identify.

Best thing you can do is spreading the word - thanks for the RT btw!

I'm distraught, so sad, my Son sometimes delivers in that Road but says he's never seen her before
She had a bit of mange, we thought, so treated her with Advocate. She is a very, very sweet young cat with a lovely, affectionate nature. We have been feeding her for a few months but couldn't, sadly, take her in - our other 3 cats just wouldn't let us!

Looks like you did a great job, she seemed well fed :)

It's good of you to all take care of this cat! It would be great if she turns out to be microchipped or someone recognises her. If no owner is found, you're right, she will need a cosy home before winter sets in.

If no owner is found and if any of you looking after her would like to take her in, but already have cats, do consider it as a possibility. If anyone wants advice on introducing a new cat to resident cats, I'm happy to give advice, just let me know. We've got a system which has worked well over the years. (We have 4 male rescue cats and 2 female rescue cats and each joined our household individually over the last 15 years so we've done a lot of introductions). It's important to do it the right way from the start, otherwise if you just bring in a new cat for the first time, it can go wrong. It's not difficult to do it the right way, just needs a gradual introduction using certain techniques and a bit of time and patience. It's also easier when the new cat is female.

In the meantime, until an owner is found, I can recommend a SnuggleSafe heat pad (if you have a microwave) as all cats love them (inside or outside) and it keeps them warm and cosy for hours http://www.snugglesafe.co.uk/heatpad.htm (you can buy them on amazon). Also a good outdoor shelter is something like http://www.shedcetraltd.co.uk/FLO-Cat-House.html and there are cheaper plastic ones out there as well.

Hey Justine, she now has a great foster home with one of our neighbours, and they'll be taking her to the vet this weekend for a check-up and microchip scan. Thanks for the tips though, so many abandoned moggies out there at the mo.

That's great news!

Hi all,

I've just joined because someone sent me this post. This cat has been a visitor in my garden for quite awhile.  If she doesn't get claimed by her humans, please let me know, I have a friend that has a very big garden, who might be able to home her.  She's such a gorgeous cat.  I would take her myself, but I have 2 already, who have would be very upset if I took another in.

Wow, she's really famous now! Great to hear you've also been keeping an eye.

We should know some time tomorrow if this cat has owners, and if they want her, following the planned vet visit - but I suspect from the length of time she's been hanging out in gardens that she may have been abandoned. Will definitely let you know if we still need to find her a home, but my neighbours may also want to keep her as they already seem quite attached :)

Just to mention, in case anyone can help, this lovely local black cat has been looking for a home for months
