Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Does anyone have any idea how Haringey council deal with unregistered illegal HMOs ?

We have dealt with a house of around 20 transient Bulgarian travellers for years now. Continuous noise problems, 8 or more kids in one house, not being schooled and playing in the road all day. Poor state of repair etc.

We've made official noise complaints that have amounted to nothing. I've also emailed environmental health and the local ward councillors repeatedly about the house without a response.

I don't know what else to do, because we are directly opposite them we get the brunt of it and I am at my wits end.

Any contacts ? Experience of this ?

It makes me want to do something silly like vote UKIP

Social Services?

Kids not at school is surely a huge problem that should be taken seriously.

You could try the HMO dept at Apex House,Tottenham.

The only person I know there is Sally Stewart.
For noise problems,try enforcement.

If you have already tried ward Councillors, next step may be MP
Ring the Haringey Planning department and report it. They will send someone round - be determined and persistent. The owner will be contacted, number of people in house checked, health and safety checked. Owner will have to pay an annual fee ... but you have to be persistent.
