Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Anyone know what happened today on Vale Road?
I was just wondering if anyone knows what has happened at the top of Vale Road? It's all been cordoned off with police tape and the police at the scene weren't hugely forthcoming with their information!

We walked the dog and went past them and my son asked the policeman said some people had a scuffle and someone got hurt but he is ok and in hospital. My son who misses nothing noticed that they were holding an evidence bag with a knife in ! Scary stuff

Vale Road! Sometime in the late 50s/early 60s when we were all paid in cash us Hornsey Journal-ites would wager a ten bob note each on where the Thursday/Friday wages robbery would be. Vale Road was a candidate. Too often we arrived in time to see the body bags before they were taken away. Grim stuff.

Blimey really. I have lived here all my life and only actually ever known of 1 bad thing that's happened a boy killed his brother on Hermitage Rd a couple of years ago . I didn't think it was too bad here talk about deluding myself ..... Tell me what have I missed ?

Definitely improved against the 50s. If you come in from Link Road and turn right, where the factories are, there was one major factory on the right, red brick mill-style. That was where one wages robbery took place and if I remember rightly it involved sawn-offs!
