Yay. Have never quite recovered from my Au Lac craving since moving up from Highbury.

I hope it'll be a good one. We'll ask Marek's wife to check it our for us.

Not for the crepani people, but also cant being excited. Vietnamese food in green lanes!!!
Pho very delicious...
Terrific! Can't wait for the opening.
Which other end?
Stoke Newington then.
I will definitely be going -- I love Pho.

There's also the fact that Vietnam and Canada alone are in a very exclusive club.

Good news! The Turkish fare on Green Lanes, especially at Hala, Devran, Gokyuzu, Yayla, is the best value for money in London but it would be nice to have other choices. A decent Chinese takeaway (as we used to have in China City in its previous incarnation a decade ago) and an Indian restaurant (though Jashan on Turnpike Lane, despite the tired decor and frontage, remains one of the best) would be welcome additions.

Lebanese sounds interesting it's my favourite cuisine. I think they key with the Turkish restaurants is to be a bit more adventurous with the choice. Most people just go for the kebabs which is great but it's the middle eastern equivalent of just going for steak and chips or burger and chips all the time. Some of the other things on the menus are much more exciting. I would however like to see a Turkish restaurant that includes more of the traditional Turkish food that we eat at home. I would love a Cypriot restaurant that does Kleftiko, Mousaka and proper stuffed vine leaves with mince meat. Stuffed vine leaves are eaten as a main in Cyprus not really as a starter. The problem is that kind of food can't be made to order has to be produced in quantities and then rely on customers picking it from menu. What tends to happen though is that customers go straight for the kebabs on the menu so restaurants then find it pointless including much else.

Looking forward to the Vietnamese too though and now I am hungry :)

C.Michael, did those 13 Colonies also invade Vietnam in 1775?  I missed out on that in my History course.

the area seems to be going all Hoxton. Opposite the soon to be Vietnamese place is a burger and cocktail place, to be called Bun and bar, according to the sign they were putting up the other day.
