Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere - couldn't see.

It seems the food recycling + garden waste wasn't collected from Falkland Rd yesterday - initally I though it was just mine but checking this morning there seemed to be a lot of green bag outs - certainly towards Wightman half of the Rd

The dry recycling was taken.

Anybody got any idea why? What's the best way to chase it up... don't fancy it sitting around another week in this heat.

My neighbour and I had a missed food waste collection. She is reporting it but worth raising it here and mentioning that it looks like the entire road was missed.

Adam, call 88857700 to log the non-collection. I've just done this (again) for the school. Having problems with dry recycling as well, which is a different truck/collection to residential.

Thanks Matt - is that the full number - what's the code please?

Always best just to phone Veolia straight away first. They're actually quite helpful and (in my experience) will always come within 24 hours to collect anything they've missed.

In this case, they told me that the food recycling is running a day late because of problems on Tuesday. But it will be collected.

Brilliant - fingers crossed

My food waste bin was collected yesterday, so a day late.

I get this regularly. My food recycling bin lives next to my dustbin, but the way my front garden is, all the bins fit only if the food recycler lives behind the bins as you look across from the path. So I've found that unless I put my food recycler next to the path the night before collection, 75% of the time it gets missed. I've been told by Veolia that this is definitely not necessary and their teams will always collect a bin if it's in the front garden, but after the bin was missed so many times, I've given up and find it less hassle to remember to bring it next to the path, rather than do the follow-up calls or live with stink for a week.

Generally Veolia seem quite good (but not 100%) at revisiting for missed collections.

My garden waste wasn't taken Thursday last week (24th) so I emailed on the Friday.  After the usual automated reply, I had another apologising and assuring me that it would be taken in the next working day.  I sent another email on Tuesday morning; another on Wednesday morning and another on Thursday morning (yesterday), where I was assuming that, as it was a normal collection day, everything would go.  Haven't had a response to that one (or Wednesday's) but have concluded that the normal guys must be on their holidays, as the bins are left higgledy-piggledy rather than how they had been left by me.
