There appears to be building work going on at the godawful London Shelton Hotel, on the corner of Burgoyne Road and Wightman Road. As they have something of a history of doing their own thing without much in the way of planning permission, does anybody know what they're doing? (I asked one of the guys working there yesterday, but he claimed that he spoke no English.) And if so, does anybody know whether they have planning permission for it?
By way of background, see this old thread: http://www.harringayonline.com/forum/topics/844301:Topic:73707?page...
And I always enjoy reading the comments about it on Trip Advisor, where it is currently ranked 1014 out of 1077 hotels in London (recent review: "probably the worst hotel in the world"): http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g186338-d583505-Reviews-L...

Looked through their gate today, and it appears that one of the grotty buildings at the back has been demolished. So we can presumably look forward to something horrible going up in its place. Anybody know whether they need/have planning permission for anything there?

Thanks, Hugh. Yes, there are a few pointers in there...
Good memory! Here's what they got in 2009, which expired after three years:

This is their reapplication last year:

But I can't find whether they were successful that time around. Anybody got any ideas?
All they've done so far is demolish what would appear to be the former urinals, which had been converted into a hotel store (I think). But there's quite a lot of clear space at the back now, so I shall be watching with interest what arises there. Sadly, the tawdry lean-to reception is still intact, as are the, er, classical pillars with plywood glued on top. I've been hoping they would be torn down...
