Help! Kitchen sink collapse - what sort of tradesman do I need to call?
My very heavy butler sink has partially collapsed due to the kitchen unit supporting it rotting from water damage. Who do I need to call to sort this out? Is it a plumber, carpenter or kitchen fitter? It probably means replacing the kitchen unit. Any help gratefully received!

If the sink has not come away from the plumbing then a kitchen fitter is your best bet but this time on a Friday anyone who will come out.

Thanks Adam, Plumbing still seems to be intact (miraculously!). I think I'm resigned to a wonky sink for the weekend anyway!

Try & find a piece of wood you can cut as a support to stop it damaging the pipes. Good luck.

Now would be a good time, if you don't know already, to find the taps/stopcocks to shut off the water supply to the sink - just in case.

I use Wes (07751 205654) for plumbing and Nick (07764 749182) for carpentry just in case you need either fixing. Hope it's stable for now. Btw I love butler sinks but was warned that you need to make sure they are sealed and water tight when fitted

Thanks very much for the suggestions. I found a number on here of someone who is a plumber and kitchen fitter so I'm going to try that first. Yes, I now know that butler sinks are a bit of a hazard, but I'm really hoping to save mine as it is an original feature of the house!
