I found Brendan on HOL. Tel: 07784 251793 He came twice to rescue a horrible, ancient kitchen tap from ruination - once at 20 mins notice! Efficient, knowledgeable, friendly and reasonable (and rides a decent bike!). A definite recommendation!

Another recommendation for Brendan.
Thanks for your post Sara. A pipe to our bathroom sink burst and we found your post first on HoL.
Brendan came round within the hour and fixed it for a fantastic price (threw in the part and no hideous call out fee despite it being Sunday and him in the middle of moving house!)
Highly recommended.

Sorry but I can't say the same about Brendan. I have had a leaky toilet with two kids in the house for two days now. I phoned Brendan yesterday morning and he came in the afternoon. Charged me £60,00 for his 10 min visit, managed to stop the leak i had but gave me a new one and coincidentally, another part he was doing stuff with, broke. When he came back this morning to fix the inherited leak and broken part, there was water running through my kitchen light fitting downstairs, he was Efing blindly to the point that i was feeling quite uncomfortable and, asked me another £20 for the broken part replaced when he had assured me on the phone that his call out charge of £60,00 was to fix the problem with parts included. Now he wants to come back to replace another part that broke, coincidently or not, and I am left with a still leaky toilet, quite scared of having him around again in case something else goes wrong and £80,00 worse off. I understand parts cost money, but £80,00 for tightening a screw and changing the water inlet valve when i still have a leak and now a failed water stop valve is too much in my book. Not to mention the three visits which left me with mess and hanging around the house. All the signs of a rip off I am afraid.

Just an update from my last post. I asked Brendan not to come back and did not give him an extra £20,00. Called Pete the Leak Dr instead and he came around the next morning, replaced the whole thing with brand new flexible pipe and new connections, all for £55,00 parts included. The problem was solved in less than half an hour and i wish I had called him before i called Brendan.

Just got Brendan to fix my bathroom tap and he was great. Came the next morning and arrived exactly when he said he would. Very happy and would definitely recommend him.
