Dear Cat owners,
I just want to warn you if you have a cat that goes out the front of your house. My beautiful 9 yr old white fluffy cat was killed by a dog in my front garden on Monday afternoon. My neighbours told me the dog was owned by a young black man, and a girl was with him, the dog must have been off the lead and cornered my cat . I dont know what kind of dog it was, but a passer by reported it to the police, and i have an incident no.
Im devastated by this as he was a treasured pet. if you walk up lausanne road you may have seen him sitting on the window sil waiting for me to come home.
Im looking into this as I dont see why the owner should get away with this, as the dog must of been off the lead.
Please be aware if your cats go out the front, and bear in mind this was the around 2.30 in the afternoon.

I was walking up the road and saw your beautiful cat and stayed for a while with a passer by who was reporting to the council - he had initially called police he said but they told him to call the council don't think he saw the incident. We were unsure what could have happened and thought a car may have been involved. Its awful because my friend saw a cat that may have been attacked in a similar way in Noel Park a few weeks ago.
can i ask you did you see my poor cat leo? Was he over by the bins near the back gate?
Very sorry to hear. I love cats and know how attached one can get to them – you've had yours so long too. It's devastating to see mindless people act like their precious life doesn't matter. I wish we could make our city dog-proof and safer for smaller creatures. I'm sure your lovely cat had a beautiful life thanks to you. Really feel for you now. Take care.
I just want to say I t appears the guy who owned the dog came back and spoke to my neighbour who hadnt mentioned he had spoken to him, which im going to follow up, he didnt have the dog with him at this point.
It still remains that if the dog had been on a lead this would have never happened. Why do these idiots think they can control them when they obviously cant.
The police said there is nothing i can do unless the owner set the dog on my cat. its the same old story no one can do anything... but if i see him i will be doing something..
