Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

We are looking for a shabby council flat location for short film shoot between 12th and 14th of May.

Requirements:

Open-plan kitchen-living room.

Worktops, fridge/freezer, drawers, cupboards at head-height.

Front door and side window.

The film project was set up by One KX's Catalyst programme, an intensive script development and film making course providing young people the opportunity to give a creative response to the theme of The Future of Food culminating in the delivery of a 3-5 minute short surrounding a food crisis in London in the year 2034.

We are unable to pay for the set location but the resulting film will be posted online and entered into festivals with possibilities of further screening opportunities such as video on demand and a private screening in a cinema.

A bit about the film:

Dog Eat Dog is a dystopian drama set around a North London council estate in the year 2034, about a boy who has to chose between his morals and his dog when the UK is hit with a sudden food crisis and London becomes like a third-world country overnight.

If you know of any possible locations, please do get in touch. Questions welcome.

Sorry nothing like that here in Crouch End

Shame on you James. Crouch End is bursting with shabby Council flats.

In my experience of council flats they were usually built with a good sized living room but a small separate kitchen, quite different from the modern trend of a kitchen/living space. The 1950s-60s ones had a wall of built-in cupboards and pantry, with space for freestanding cooker. No worktops except the draining board by the sink - you had a small kitchen table, with chairs if there was room!
