Do you own a male ginger cat?
I noticed a ginger cat in Duckett road this morning. He has a fight injury and he isn't neutered.
If he's your cat, please get him neutered. It helps to reduce aggressive behaviour plus it will stop him getting other cats pregnant. Animal rescue centres are inundated with animals needing homes so it would help them a lot if everyone neutered and microchipped their cats and dogs.
I hope he has a home. Will try to take a photo if I see him again.

There is a similar pale ginger cat who hangs out between Hornsey Park Road and Alexandra Road N8. He is lame and I'm sure this is why he is so aggressive but he menaces several cats in the area and has cost me a fortune in vets' bills. In the last 6 months he has bitten right through my cat's ear, and punctured his leg. I do worry about cat aids and various other infections he could be passing on. He is also hostile to humans. So I'd like to agree with Justine, please, if he's yours, get him neutered and microchipped.

If you can catch the pale ginger cat near you, it's a good idea to take him to the vet, get him neutered and a blood test to see if he has FIV and see if microchipped. Or if you need a cat trap to catch him, then local rescue places will help. I doubt he has an owner. If he is lame, he will need medical treatment.
I can recommend www.caring-for-animals.org who rescue feral cats as well as stray and FIV cats. So you could give them a call and see if they can advise or help catch it and they can take him in and do all the vet stuff. Tel 01708 854567. It will save you money in the end on vet bills on your own cats! I sympathise as my cats have had injuries before in similar circumstances and vet bills are so expensive.
If I see the ginger cat again near me, I intend to try to catch him and get him neutered as he's fighting a lot. I will also get him checked for FIV. These cats need help and in turn that benefits our own cats as well.

It was very reassuring to read your post in the first place! I wonder if it's the same cat - although this one would be impossible to trap - when I try to chase him from the garden he confronts me - he's terrifying! I'll give Caring for Animals a call though - thank you!

That's great. I have sometimes used a cat trap (which is an open cage with food inside - cat walks in and the cage door automatically falls shut behind him and traps the cat). This is the only thing that works to catch an unfriendly cat. I have a cat trap anyone can borrow if needed.
These situations can have happy endings. I trapped a male FIV cat and took him to www.foalfarm.org.uk and they paired him with a female FIV cat from Battersea. They fell in love (the neutered version!) and got an indoor home together.
