(Sorrry, I've cross posted this into Lost/Found as well. Didnt see the pets area till after!)
Yesterday we found a large male German Shepherd walking up and down Perth Road. We've brought him home, had him checked for a Microchip, and psted it all over twitter. If anyone knows anyone with an older German Shepherd, could they check to make sure?
I can be reached on Twitter via @CasNeedsCoffee.

Where is Perth Rd Casper ? There's a tall skinny, shaven-headed man regularly walks an alsatian, that looks very like the one in your picture, along the New River path behind Wightman Rd. I noticed yesterday he didn't seem to have the dog with him.
Perth Road connects Lordship Lane, and Whitehart Lane. That said, I took Bear (we're calling him that because he's huge) out on the lead last night, in the hope he'd lead me home, and he just wandered aimlessly. If you see him again, could you ask?
I will, but I think Perth Rd is rather too far away, unless my skinny man took him there to dump him. You may have found a new friend
Well done for your concern.
He certainly likes to walk, so I don't think it inconceivable that he's taken a long ol' stroll. But he's definitely a well loved dog, someone has taken good care of him, and he's incredibly well behaved around humans and other animals.
I've had my orders though, if we don't find his owners, he's staying with us :)
He's beautiful. Poor Bear, I hope he hasn't been dumped. You could try posting on some of the pet lost and found sites,Battersea runs one.

he does look very like the aforementioned dog. And I'd be very surprised if the owner had left him as he has always seemed a very loving and thoughful owner. I've often seen them by the New River and as fellow dog owners exchanged in doggy small talk.
but I don't know exactly where they live. Maybe sticking a poster at the entrance to the New River at the top pf Hewitt Road would help?
Its a little distance from where I am, and I don't drive, but I'll see what I can arrange.
If you like, I could rip off your picture and make up a poster.
I live by Hornsey station
Much as it goes against my nature of not putting my phone number online... :)
I've attached the Found poster I'm putting up shortly, in case anyone wants to print it off and pop it up locally.
And thanks for the offer John.
Will go up tomorrow, both ends of the Wightman Rd New River path
Good News everyone! (Well, good news for everyone other than my OH and Daughter who wanted to keep him)
The owner reported him lost to Battersea, and they contacted me a short while ago. He's been round to collect Rocky (I still say he's more a Bear than a Rocky) and he's happy headed off home.
