Whether you are a regular at Railway Fields local nature reserve or have never ventured up the cobbled path (or have never even heard of it), the Friends of Railway Fields are keen to hear your views.
We'd like to find out how often you visit Railway Fields, the reasons you visit (or don't visit) and the types of activities that might interest you. If you could let us know by sparing a moment to complete this short survey we'd be really grateful. The feedback will give us useful information and help us plan future activities and events.
Your views are welcome whether or not you are already aware of the Friends group or Railway Fields itself. There are nine questions (mostly multi-choice) so it should just take a few minutes to complete.
Many thanks from the Friends.

Sorry, Bethany, what do you think is unsafe about it? That it is quiet? As for Chestnuts, I find your comment rather peculiar. It appears someone was caught short. Not pleasant, but hardly a reason to decide forever to shun a much-loved and hugely-appreciated great local park - one of the things that Haringey does better than almost anywhere else in London.
Another one with an issue with the opening hours! As a result, I've never been.
IWould love to visit some time, but have to work during the week. Will fill out the survey if it helps, but could be tricky having never set foot in there!
I don't go often but I like its secluded, hidden feel and a nice oasis from Green lanes
A big thank you to everyone who has filled in the survey - and if you haven't there's still time. Keep 'em coming!
Really interesting to read about people's different perceptions of the place.
The gates will be open on Saturday 7th Dec from about midday (tree dressing from 2.30), and on the last Saturday of every month from January next year, plus for other occasional Friends events. Do venture in for a stroll round - or even better, join us for some hands-on conservation or family arts activities. You'll find the dates on our website soon. Or email us to join our mailing list at friendsofrailwayfields@gmail.com
There is plenty of activity at Railway Fields during the week, so it's definitely not under-utilised. Three conservation volunteer groups operate from here and lots of school groups visit during term time to learn about nature. It is a TCV 'hub' so several members of staff work in the cabin. And members of the public visit - parents with young children, dog-walkers, people who work nearby on their lunchbreak, etc.
However, we appreciate that's not much help to people who can't visit during the week. It is important for the nature to have one undisturbed day a week in order to thrive, but in theory the site could be opened up on one day every weekend. The main reason we don't do it at the moment is that we don't have a big enough pool of volunteers. TCV would be pleased to offer training to anyone who is interested - email us at friendsofrailwayfields@gmail.com
Thanks again from the Friends.
I've just completed the form and can honestly say that I love Railway Fields. You are an oasis of calm from the wonderful (most of the time anyway!) madness that is Green Lanes. I spent many a day there whilst my son was a baby and I needed to get out of the house but not go too far. And since he became a toddler we have wandered up the magical cobbled path at least once a week as he absolutely loves running around there now too. Sadly, I have just gone back to work so won't be able to enjoy the Fields during the week - but we will look out for weekend opening. Keep up the good work all!
