The Harringay Lantern Procession and Christmas Night Market is on Sunday 8th December 2013, there are two lantern making workshops the weekend before.
Would anyone like to come help at the workshops? One is on Saturday 30th November at the Salisbury Pub, the other on Sunday 1st of December at Harringay Market.
Greet people as the arrive and show them the different styles of lanterns and how to make them and help a bit with cutting, taping and gluing. Its a lot of fun and you don't need any special skills, we'll show you how to do everything.
If you're interested email me (ant.elder@gmail.com) or woody.
See here for what the workshops looked like last year, and here for some lantern photos.

Hi Ant
As part of our Tree Dressing Day we're having decoration and lantern making at Railway Fields on 7 December (the day before) and will encourage those who make lanterns to take them away for the Harringay Lantern Procession the following day. How does that sound?

Also, here's a task you could help with from the comfort of your own home -
Could anyone help prepare the lantern lights? We use the bare circuit board from inside of these:
So they need to be opened and then the plastic covers carefully prised off with a sharp knife and all the insides pulled out and the LEDs bent out slightly so they shine towards the side instead of straight out, then batteries fitted and the bottom cover reattached.
It takes a good few minutes for each one, and we'll need a lot, let me know if you'd like to help.
Yes, we tried some of those, and lots of other things, last year. The flameless tea lights aren't really that bright so don't work that well in the lanterns. These ones, two for £1, were the best for brightness and value that i could find.
So anyone volunteering to help pull them apart? You can do it while you watch TV or something? Will take me literally days of work to do them all myself...
