Hi
I visited Wolves Lane Garden Centre & Nursery on the weekend for the first time. It's an amazing place (or would have been in it's heyday) but sadly it's looking quite run down. Anyone know something about this? I'm just curious, I'm a keen gardener.

It used to be run by the council and I think had a specific focus on providing opportunities for people with disabilities. I'm guessing it has been affected by cuts.
There is still this page about it on Haringey's website:

Yes, I think it's a funding issue.
Both my children loved going on school trips to the Palm House there. And I think the school bought some competitively priced compost/soil there too.
It's one of those places I keep meaning to go to show my support but rarely get around to doing so
thanks for posting! I now live in Noel Park and didn't know about it - popped in today and was delighted! I've put some photos up on the Haringey Flickr group. Their home made ginger beer is the spiciest i've ever tasted - delish!
Last time I was there, maybe 18 mths back, they had just started keeping chickens too. It's a quirky place but for some reason not really on enough people's radar. Think it also supplies plants for Haringey Parks dept planting.
There is an open day there tomorrow, Saturday 17th. Worth a visit
thanks. I can't make it this Saturday unfortunately but I hope some other Harringayonline members can go!
