Cantata Commissioned for Harringay's New River

A few months back when I first got involved with the Hidden River Festival, I had this crazy idea of getting a New River Symphony composed. I asked recently arrived to the neighbourhood composer Stuart Wood if he'd be interested. He said he would be and would see what he could do.

I guess I then moved on and filed it away as a great idea left to fate. However, it seems that Stuart got right on to it. In a call out of the blue last week, I learned from Stuart that he'd approached the Arts Council and won funding to compose, rehearse and video-document a New River Cantata. 

How's about that then folks. Our neighbourhood, or a part of it, is going to have its very own piece of music!
