Veolia and next doors' rubbish
This saga really is beginning to wear me down.
For some reason, (probably the wrong bin was in front of the right bin) Veolia have not been emptying the bins next door. Now they definitely won't as they're overflowing and they STINK! I made the mistake of opening my window today but quickly closed it again due to the stench of rotting rubbish. But not only that, they next door (non English speaking Japanese) have nowhere else to put their rubbish.
Until now.
I spotted one of them on my CCTV putting their rubbish in my bin. So when they've filled my bin, where am I supposed to put my rubbish?

Today is triple collection day, food, dry recycling and general waste. Apparently this morning at 6.30am, Hubby saw a group of people in hi-viz jackets inspecting the bins along this road. As he went past he heard one of the women telling and showing the others how to move a bin. "You lean it back on the wheels then roll forward to move it". They then proceeded to take every bin out of every yard and placed them out on the pavement. As far as I know they have all been emptied now.
So that means that at the moment this road is starting with a clean sheet so to speak. All bins have been emptied and even put back into the front yards. Time will tell if this standard is kept up by the householders and Veolia alike.
For the moment then my neighbour has no reason to use my bins so I have put it back into position out the front. I still think though that there should be something in place whereby either Veolia or the council can back up a tenant who's having problems regarding other peoples rubbish. For me it seems my only option would have been to take my neighbour to court myself, not really possible for some one in my position. I felt quite abandoned by these authorities whilst knowing that if I stepped out of line they'd soon jump onto my back. I don't think I should have to fight these battles by myself, I stick to the rules but am taken advantage of and nobody really seemed able to solve the problem. I really don't care what other people put in their bins, just don't put it in mine.

What a busy time in this road today. Two Veolia people parked across the road and came over for an inspection. I was wrong about all the bins being put back, it was just mine and my neighbours black bin. A lot of the others were left out on the pavement. When these two guys crossed the road they were just in time to see my neighbour (the other side) struggling to get to his basement flat. When I looked he was trying to move the bin and failed when it fell over the step. They checked on the offending green bin which was emptied this morning, shrugged their shoulders as it was empty and presenting no problem apart from being left out on the pavement. I should have mentioned that the basement neighbour (under the Japanese) moved that bin onto the pavement on Monday. Maybe they took out the non-recyclable items too?
Anyway, these two guys and now walking the street taking photos and then replacing the bins back into the front yards.

I would be grateful if you could let me know whether weekly collections have been reinstated on your road (and road name) and not for purpose built flats.

We have the alternating triple collection (compost-able, recycling and general) one week then just the two the following week, (missing out the general waste) Woodstock Rd

Thanks for the prompt reply Madeline, I was trying to see if anywhere had weekly collections of refuse reinstated where it wasn't working under the newish scheme.
