Our son has been there for almost 3 years and he's loved it, and has come on leaps and bounds in his development. I think it's true to say that they took their eye off the ball and let a few things slide, but the Ofsted report really propelled them into action, and there are many plans now in place for things like new planned activities and menus. There's been a lot of recruitment of new staff, and a gradual process of finding the staff that work best in each of the rooms, to find the personality types that are the best suited to particular age groups. I've always had huge confidence in many of the nursery workers that we've had daily contact with over the years, and I personally trust my instinct over the Ofsted report (though it did raise a few specific issues that I think have all been resolved).
As we have discovered elsewhere with Downhills and Noel Park schools forced to become academies, there's more to Ofsted inspections than meets the eye...
