I can't quite understand how it can happen. Surely there is a market saturation point with gambling? 18 petrol stations couldn't survive on one street.

Yes, I wondered that about Green Lanes about two betting shops ago! I guess some shops play a long game and are willing to take a hit in the short term because they either think demand will grow or other shops will fail. I'm guessing the first seems to be true, but as yet no sign of the second, more's the pity.

It's certainly a shame if they have to backing to play the long game. Rents and rates kill many small businesses.

Legislation, when they voted to change legislation and the necessity to demonstrate need, we get what we have now,
they should also restrict the amount of slot machines, this is their achilles heal, the average dwell time is 8 hours,
how about that, soul destroying for all.
