Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

My partner and I were confronted by an aggressive man a pedestrian crossing last night. As we were crossing, he said something like, "you guys are going to get it" as he reached into his jacket. We managed to get away and I called 999. It was a bit frustrating as the telephonist could not find the area on his system. 15 minutes later I got a call from Tina in the Harringay Ward. It seemed to be implied that as we didn't see a weapon then there was no threat. There was a similar report of a person matching the same description around that time. I am hoping to get some follow up on this incident today. What do you think the chances are of getting a follow up?

If you want help or advice on this contact Sgt Ian Pyles of SNT.
Or Glyn Kelly on this site - see here for local police contact info.
I agree with Matt. Contact the Safer Neighbourhoods Team. I had cause to do that over the last couple of days and the response was excellent. It's also important that they are aware of anti-social and potentially much worse behaviours occuring so that they can allocate resources.
That sounds really scary! I agree with the others, contact SNT, they really are great.
I have encountered an angry young man on Endymion Road on two occasions in the last couple of weeks (on the first occasion he took the opportunity to smash my windscreen to smithereens) I wonder if we are dealing with the same guy?
You contacted the police about this Marie?! This person must live locally.
If there is no weapon shown even though there was obvious aggressive intent, it cannot be a knife/gun crime and not add to the statistics, exactly what the authorities want.
Whatever the motive is, it's agressive behaviour and this person could be threatening others at random. SNT need to know. They're a good team of people. They'll listen. But do also mention what Marie has said above. It gives them additional reason to patrol the area.
I didn't even think of this, whatever their motive, it's a frightening situation. Touch wood (*hand on head) I have never had any major bother in Harringay. I hope this person will be made accountable.
the telephonist probablycould not find Endemyion Road on his system as it is spelt Endymion.
Colin if you have a description of the miscreant we`ll keep our eyes open there for him during our patrols.
Was anyone on Green Lanes last night after the football match had finished? I was coming home and doing my usual walk from the tube at about 11pm with my daughter. There were many honking cars with their flags flying celebrating their win and by looking at the flags we concluded Turkey had won. When we reached the Barclay Bank corner we found ourselves surrounded by smashing glass from bottles hurled at passing cars, hordes of men standing around(nothing unusual there) and police running down the road trying to grab those men who were actually running around. Shades of earlier activities in Green Lanes in the 1990s. A very nice old man standing watching told us they don't like the Turks but I don't know who he was referring to and that wasn't the time to stand and find out. My eldest daughter is married to a Turkish guy so I don't count myself in that category. How the police can stop football violence no one seems to know but be warned next Wednesday when Turkey play Germany in the semi final.
Yes it happened on the 15th after the Turkey v Czech Rep match, my flatmate was caught in the middle of it. It's the Kurds who are causing the voilence. And it will happen again as you say, next Wed
