Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The Organ Factory - Harringay's Underground Cinema: Sunday June 2nd

Hey all you film and local-history buffs!

We've just updated http://theorganfactory.co.uk with details of our next film event on Sunday June 2nd. After some tough negotiations with Universal Pictures we've secured the epic Orson Welles crime drama Touch of Evil - a film noir classic!

The Guardian chose it as their #2 favourite crime movie of all time and we think it's going to look pretty lovely in our little venue. The Organ Factory is based in one Harringay's hidden secrets, an old warehouse tucked just behind Green Lanes (near'ish to St Ann's road), that believe it or not used to be a factory that made organs...

One of its organs was the first to be installed in a UK cinema, the Coliseum, which used to be opposite the great Salisbury pub (http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/23422).

Hope to see you there!

Can you give us some times? Doesn't appear to be anything on the web site so not clear if this is a daytime or evening event (and when it starts/finishes).

Hi Bushy - sorry about that, forgot to add  the times.

SUNDAY JUNE 2nd 2013:

DOORS @ 3PM

FILM @ 4PM

Will probably be done and dusted by 6.30pm - last time the audience voted for an interval - will put it to the vote again this time.

Sold out again I see.

Thanks so much James and team for organising this and turning your lovely space into a screening room! - I was there and we thoroughly enjoyed it.  Only thing for next time would be that the speaker was very buzzy (right hand side if you're facing the screen) - and the two end seats of the four at the very front (in front of the projector) blocked the view a bit for people behind.  Looking forward to seeing what the future programming is!  thanks again.

Hi Racheal,

Really pleased you had a good time!  And thanks for the valuable feedback - it will help us for next time.

Two things I've learnt - I think the older soundtrack of the film caused a bit more distortion but I wanted to ensure the dialogue was audible -  something to test further next time.  And we need to make sure we try out the seating arrangement a bit more thoroughly to ensure better sight lines.

Thanks for your support!

James
