I saw it Hugh - stopped into the park on my way home late at night (for some reason the gates were open?) and gazed at the yellow moon hanging over the lake. No photo, unfortunately.

Once again Hugh your photos are so good. I saw how beautiful the moon was and my photos are just embarrassing. Just for interest what lens did you use for the second shot?

Kind of you to say so - though I can't imagine any of your photos being embarrasing! EXIF data below. Lens was used fully extended - handheld, probably should have done it on a tripod:

ah 300mm focal length.  Thats why its so clear.  I can only go up to 200mm :(

Yes they were embarrassing.  Out of focus, wobbly, over exposed, you name it, they were it.

But over indulgence of saturday night beer may not have helped!!

Now if you'd remembered your flash, think how much better the lighting would have been.

How remiss of me - having spent all that money on a moonflash too!

And here it is again tonight in a slightly different position. This is the colour as it came out of the camera. So it seems like the moon's not made out of cheese after all.

Beautiful indeed

Stunning shot.

Pretty much conclusive, I'd say.

Of course, we can't tell what signs have been erected on the Dark Side of the Moon.
